How do I open an account?

Open on Investec Online or the App using the below steps
  • Log into Investec Online
  • From your Overview page click on ‘Open a new account’
  • Select the ‘Save’ tab
  • Scroll down and select ‘Investec 7-Day Notice Deposit’
  • Click on ‘Apply’ and complete a few questions

  • Log into the Investec App
  • Tap the ‘For you’ menu item
  • Scroll down and tap ‘Save’ under ‘Explore by categories’
  • Scroll down and under ‘Notice Deposit’ select ‘7-Day Notice Deposit’
  • Tap ‘Apply’ and complete a few questions

For businesses, please contact your Private Banker to open the 7-Day Notice Deposit.

Once your account is opened, you can simply transfer your funds and start earning a competitive rate.

  • What is the difference between an annual effective rate (NACA) and a nominal rate (NACM)?

    Interest rates are quoted either as annual effective rates (NACA) or nominal rates (NACM). The NACA is the interest rate earned (at the same nominal rate) over a 12-month period with the interest compounding back into the savings account. NACM is the actual interest earned over a one-month period. It is important to note that the interest you will have earned at the time of your withdrawal will be in line with lifecycle of your funds at the time of placing your 7 days notice.

    • If you already have an Investec Private Bank account, should you not specify a different settlement account, funds withdrawn will automatically be transferred into your Investec Private Bank account
    • You are able to make additional deposits into your account after your initial deposit

  • How to place notice

    If you’re ready to place your 7-day notice, it’s online, it’s easy

    • Log into Investec Online
    • Select your Investec 7-Day Notice Deposit
    • Click on the ‘Notice withdrawal’ option and go to the ‘Place notice’ tab
    • Complete the relevant fields and click ‘Continue’
    • Check all information is correct and click ‘Submit’

    You will then see your noticed placed under the ‘Pending notice’ tab
