Masterful Manon wins the 2024 Investec SA Women's Open

Manon de Roey

Belgium’s Manon De Roey put the finishing touch to another remarkable Sunshine Ladies Tour season when she claimed a four-stroke victory in the Investec South African Women’s Open at the Erinvale Country and Golf Estate

The win sealed her second Ladies European Tour (LET) victory and her first on the Sunshine Ladies Tour.

De Roey relished the challenge of another windy day in the winelands and was never under any pressure from the rest of the field as she cruised to victory. “I like playing in windy conditions because I feel like I can shape the ball well. I can just let the wind do the work and I feel a bit more relaxed,” she said.

Investec Order of Merit

Gabriella Cowley winner of the Investec Order of Merit

Over and above the substantial prize purse on offer through the Investec SA Women's Open there's an additional opportunity to walk away with R200,000 through the Investec Order of Merit.

The Investec Order of Merit is based on a points system, and the top three placed professionals on the final Investec Order of Merit will gain automatic entry into the 2025 Investec SA Women’s Open.

In order to qualify for the Investec Order of Merit bonus prize, players must have competed in at least four events in the 2024 Sunshine Ladies Tour season.

This year England’s Gabriella Cowley, who shared second place on 10 under par alongside New Zealand’s Momoka Kobori, was crowned as the Sunshine Ladies Tour’s overall Investec Order of Merit champion.

The Investec Homegrown Award, of R100 000, goes to the Investec South Africa Women's Open winner, should they be a South African. This year, therefore, it wasn't won by anyone.

“We proudly support women in sport and believe that our investment will go a long way towards affording more female golfers the opportunity to not only play and perform, but to earn well too," says Peta Dixon, Investec head of sponsorships.

The winning trio

Nicole Garcia, Manon de Roey and Gabriella Cowley

Nicole Garcia finished as the leading South African in fourth place on eight under par.

This also secured her second place on the Investec Order of Merit and, as the leading South African here, she won herself a Renault for the year.
